Global Lung Cancer Patient Advisory Council
In March 2023, as part of Elizabeth’s participation in the Global Lung Cancer Patient Advisory Council sponsored by Roche, she discusses the importance of biomarker testing. Not only does biomarker testing help to ensure a patient receives personalized cancer treatments, the therapies can often times lead to better patient outcomes and enhanced quality of life.
Genentech ALK Positivity Project
In 2018 Elizabeth and five other patients and care partners participated in filming of these videos. The ALK Positivity Project aims to inspire people with ALK+ mNSCLC to find their own reasons for staying positive.

Elizabeth Shares why research matters
In June 2017, during the Free to Breathe (now Lung Cancer Research Foundation) walk, Elizabeth speaks about her diagnosis for the first time in a public forum.

Finding Your Niche - Go2 For Lung Cancer Advocacy Training
In February 2023, Elizabeth and fellow advocates Terri Ann DiJulio, Bruce Dunbar and Cliff Norton spoke at the Go2 Advocacy Summit held in Washington, DC to discuss the importance of advocacy. Sadly, fellow advocate Cliff Norton passed away in January of 2024.
In May 2022, Cure Magazine Recognizes Stephanie Kaiser, M.S.N., CRNP, AOCNP, Who Had Been a Guardian Angel And Co-Pilot During a Elizabeth’s Unexpected Cancer Journey. Stephanie serves as an advisory council member.

From the Summer of 2023, Elizabeth’s story is shared with the Pitt Giving community.

Go2 Gala- Caregiver Award
Prior to Elizabeth’s passing she shared with friends in the lung cancer community that she planned to nominate her husband Sven for the caregiver award through G02. Sadly, Elizabeth passed away before making the nomination, but the friends she shared it with nominated him on her behalf. Sven reluctantly accepted the award and his remarks are captured here.
Go2 For Lung Cancer Advocacy Video
When Elizabeth passed away in 2023, Sven understood it was important to continue having his (and Elizabeth’s) voice heard. He decided to continue sharing Elizabeth’s story to advocate for increased federal funding for lung cancer research.
